I’m pretty flexible when it comes to building media projects, and it seems that the project I enjoy the most are the ones that let me use several different branches of digital media in the same project. From my past work experience, I’ve found it to be most beneficial to have experience in several different areas, rather than to focus solely on one. Here’s a breakdown of my experience working with several different types of projects.
Videography / Video Editing / Motion Graphics / 3d Compositing
I have worked with integration of 3d content and live action using a combination of Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Premiere. An example of this can be seen in my portfolio in the ‘Skelaxin’ project. I have limited experience with filming and editing 24P and HD video, and operating steadycams and crane cams.
Web Development and Programming
Over two years of experience developing Drupal and Flash based websites. I am most comfortable working with Drupal and WordPress, but have worked with other open source content management systems. I work with several programming languages and techniques including XHTML, DHTML, CSS, XML, PHP, mySql, Flash, ActionScript 2/3, javaScript, RSS, and I have some limited experience with ASP, MSSQL, and AJAX..
3d Content Creation
One of my main areas of interest is the creation of 3d content. I have several years of experience creating 3d content for video, print, online and for disc-based interactive presentations. I have created architectural 3d walkthroughs for pre-construction visualization, and integrated my 3d work using Flash to create interactive web-based learning tools. I can produce an end result that is anywhere from a hand-sketched look, to absolutely photo-realistic, and I’m comfortable working in either 3dS MAX, or LightWave 3D.
Interactive Flash Presentations
I have produced interactive kiosks and CD-ROM presentations using Flash. I have been involved in every step of the process, and can take a presentation all the way from initial concept to design, through the interactive programming, to CD/DVD mastering.
Traditional Art and Photography
I have always been a traditional artist. As a hobby as well as a part of my workflow, I enjoy photography,
conceptual sketching, marker and colored pencil Illustration, and sculpture in clay, plaster, and wire. I feel that this art background gives me a good sense of design, which helps on design-intensive projects.
